From Sound to Soil: An Independent Soundscape Ecology Study

Cultural Collaboration

This initiative is invested in collaboration with local artists, elders and indigenous communities. Each collaboration prioritizes ethical & cultural exchange approached with respect and honor; ensuring that this work is reciprocal, not extractive.

Public Activation

Research is integrated into immersive experiences; Installations, workshops, demonstrations, artist talks and sound baths. Public activations invite audiences to engage directly with plant life, biofeedback systems, and environmental soundscapes—transforming passive listening into embodied participation. Each activation expands awareness of our interconnectedness with land, culture, and community.

Environmental Sound Study

Through intentional listening to native species, waterways, shifting landscapes and vibrant cityscapes, From Sound to Soil embarks on the mission to treat field recordings as ecological research and creative practice. Each site serves as the “studio”, each recording serves as a way to preserve the sonic ecosystem while informing new works rooted in environmental awareness.

Living Sound Archives

This living library ethically preserves environmental and cultural memory while remaining dynamic and accessible. The archive continues to grow as the initiative evolves and travels to regions worldwide.
